Overview

Academy certificates are built on one published standard for commercial practice. Each one tests a defined set of skills with a timed assessment, marked against the same criteria for every candidate. You can study with our courses, on your own or with your employer.

Start with the Foundation Certificate in Commercial Practice if you are new to the work. Take a specialist certificate in contracts, supplier assurance or commercial risk when you need depth in one area. The Certified Commercial Practice Professional certificate is for experienced people who manage others or make the final call.

Prices run from £295 to £545, plus a £35 booking fee. Members pay the listed price; non-members add 20 per cent. Every certificate is awarded by the Academy Examinations Board, our own independent panel.

  • Entry level

Foundation Certificate in Commercial Practice (FCCP)

The FCCP covers the essentials every commercial role needs: how a contract is formed, what a purchase order commits you to, how to check a supplier and how payment terms affect cash. It suits people in their first two years of the work, or anyone moving into it from another field. Study takes about 40 hours and the online exam lasts 90 minutes.

  • Advanced

    Certified Commercial Practice Professional (CCPP)

The CCPP is for practitioners who already run contracts or supplier relationships and now set the approach for a team. It is assessed by a written case study and a recorded interview, so you show your judgement rather than recall facts. Passing it is the main route to Senior membership.
